Released by Officer Don Martin with Tyler PD:

On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 5:10 a.m., Tyler Police responded to an alarm at First Bank and Trust, located at 2211 Three Lakes, off of Jacksonville Highway. Upon officers arrival they observed a large box truck that had its engine running and an ATM machine behind the vehicle that was damaged.

Officers on the scene determined that the suspects had hot-wired a box truck belonging to TLC Office Systems, located at 2001 Old Troup Hwy. The suspects drove the stolen box truck to the First Bank and Trust. The suspects used a vehicle to push the concrete and brick housing of the ATM machine over and then attempted to push the ATM onto the lift of the stolen box truck. The theft of the ATM machine was unsuccessful and no money was obtained.

The suspects left the area before officers arrived. The theft and damage of property is estimated at close to $100,000.00. Investigators are in the process of obtaining any surveillance video of the incident.
