TISD teacher recognized in nationwide event

Released by Tyler ISD:

TYLER, TX - Tyler ISD middle school teacher gets a surprise visit by local business with a cause.  Lisa Painter, a teacher at Moore MST Middle School, reaps the benefits of a national campaign. Painter is among 1,000 teachers from across the nation to be surprised with a donation of classroom supplies for her extraordinary work. A team of OfficeMax representatives surprised Painter with classroom supplies and resources worth more than $1,000.

The national cause campaign "A Day Made Better" is a partnership between the nationwide Adopt-A-Classroom program and OfficeMax stores.

The goal of the Adopt and A Classroom program and Office Max is to provide economic relief for teachers and encourage national support. Hundreds of OfficeMax associates worked secretly with school principals to honor the teachers.  These teachers were selected by their principals to be recognized.

Adopt-A-Classroom invites the community into the classroom in support of teachers and their students. By adopting a classroom, donors form partnerships with specific classrooms providing financial and moral support. The result is a meaningful contribution to education in which donors experience the impact of their efforts and celebrate in a classroom's success.
