Jewel Thief Gets 30 years in Prison

A man who tried to scam some Longview jewelry stores out of thousands of dollars in diamonds, has been sentenced to a long term in prison.

42 year old Adam Jones of Beaumont was found guilty of felony theft for exchanging bogus checks for the stones.

Jones will spend the next 30 years in prison for scamming the two Longview jewelers.

The jewel thief made a critical error when committing the crimes by putting his name and drivers license number on the checks.
