Early Morning Fatality Crash Claims Driver In Tyler

Friday was a deadly day on the wet East Texas roads, continuing into the night when a East Texas man was killed in a crash in Tyler.

Just after midnight, a car on Fifth street near Belmont lost control, sliding off the road and striking a tree. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver did not have any identification, so police are withholding his name until the body can be identified by relatives.

Tyler Police suspect wet roads, speed, and intoxication may have combined to play a part in the wreck.
