TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Honors were given to some outstanding local businesses. The Hispanic Business Alliance handed out their second annual Hispanic Business Achievers Awards, recognizing local employers in six different categories. The alliance estimates there are 1,000 Hispanic businesses in the Tyler area. The winners were proud to be recognized by their community.

"Very proud to be recognized as an outstanding established Mexican community leader, and very proud to serve the Latin community here in Tyler," said Cynthia Garcia, with Panadera Neuvo Leon.

"There are a lot of business that are doing well, that are contributing to the community economically, creating jobs, so for us it was very important to recognize those businesses," said Price Arredondo, with the City of Tyler.

Hispanic owned businesses have contributed an estimated 14,000 jobs to the State of Texas.
