High Court Rules Lindsay Faisst Appeal Goes On

The state's highest criminal court has ruled on an appeal by Lindsay Faisst. She was the teenager who pleaded guilty to "intoxication manslaughter" for the New Year's 2000 death of her friend.

Faisst was drunk and speeding away from law enforcement when she crashed into a tree, killing her passenger, Ashley McCaa.

Faisst had appealed, saying she should never have been tried as an adult.

A lower appeals court threw out her argument without ruling. Now the Court of Criminal Appeals, the highest criminal court, ruled a decision must be made on that argument.
