Catholic Diocese Offers Parishioner Chance to Head to Class

The Catholic Church in East Texas is giving parishoners a chance to head to class, earning real college credit.

The Diocese of Tyler and the University of Dallas are teaming up to offer classes on faith beginning this fall.  Students will be able to take all or part of a four-year program, leading to up to 32 semester hours of transferrable credit.

"This is sowing a seed for the Catholics in this area, as well as for the University of Dallas in the area of Tyler, so that is what is exciting."

The Diocese will soon work out where in East Texas the classes will be held. The cost is expected to be $65 per semester hour.
