A good grape harvest was celebrated in east Texas today, in a time honored tradition. It was the 10th annual Kiepersol Estates harvest festival and grape stomp in Bullard, celebrating an excellent grape harvest by the wine-maker.
Activities included wine tasting and a traditional stomping of the grapes where participants can make wine. Organizers say the event is one that has been passed down for centuries by family wine-makers.
"This is tradition for farmers to have after harvest a harvest festival," says Pierre de Wet of Kiepersol Estates, "We count our blessings, share it with the community. We're done with (the) harvest, we had (an) awesome crop."
Hundreds of people turned out for the harvest festival today.
