RUSK, TX (KLTV) - Wet road conditions and an unsafe speed attributed to a traffic accident Sunday afternoon that claimed the life of one of two sisters from Rusk.

DPS reports 21-year-old Kristen King lost control of her car, slid off the road and struck a tree. King died a short time later from her injuries.

Her sister, 17-year-old Kala King, who was a passenger in the car, was ejected from the vehicle and is hospitalized in undetermined condition. No seat belts were worn by the driver or the passenger.

The wreck occurred on FM 241 south of Rusk in Cherokee County shortly after 1pm Sunday.
