TYLER, TX - It's been a year since the stock market tumbled more than 4,000 points - making it a difficult year for both homebuilders and homebuyers.

As a result, the Tyler Area Builders Association (TABA) is offering a way to bring the two together through its New Home Bonanza - an Open House Extravaganza.

The Bonanza is five-day open house event that will feature new houses and lots in a variety of sizes and price ranges. To further entice buyers, the homebuilders and TABA members are offering additional incentives for a limited time.

"We want to encourage East Texans to come tour these buyer-ready homes located throughout the Smith County area, including Athens," said incoming TABA President Ricky Casey, donning his cowboy hat, duster and boots in honor of the event.

The Bonanza will run Oct. 8-12. Locations will be posted on the TABA web site at www.tylerareabuilders.com. The properties will be open noon to 5 p.m. every day of the event. Admission is free with a canned food item that will be donated to PATH.

"Homebuyers should take advantage of these deals before they ride off into the sunset," Casey said.

The Tyler Area Builders Association (TABA) serves an area that covers Anderson, Cherokee, Freestone, Henderson, Navarro, Smith, Wood and Van Zandt counties. The mission of the TABA is "Building Better Builders" by promoting quality, accountability and professionalism in the home building industry.
