JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) - We begin at China Buffet at 707 South Jackson Street where the inspector noticed, newspaper used as a food covering, a dirty ice machine and dirty soda fountain nozzles. Sushi, melon, and boiled eggs on the buffet were not cold enough. Cooked food was found uncovered in the walk-in-freezer. The inspector also noted the dishwasher didn't properly dispense sanitizer. Total demerits? 18.

Just down the road at the Chili's located at 1225 South Jackson Street, beef was kept cold enough, and dessert cups needed covering inside the freezer. The cutting board was in bad shape and some of the food handlers needed proper food handling training. Total demerits? 15.

Last, but certainly not least, DJ's Smokehouse located at 401 West Larissa, a past blue ribbon winner, continues to impress inspectors. They found absolutely no violations. A clean kitchen yielding zero demerits.
