TYLER, TX (KLTV) - A million dollars has been raised to renovate a historic East Texas theater.
The City of Tyler and the East Texas Symphony Orchestra will use these funds to change the Liberty Theatre into a Performing Arts Hall.
It will seat 300 people, and Mayor Barbara Bass says the theatre will be a destination point for arts and culture in East Texas.
"We're so proud of the renovations that have gone on," said Bass. "We are so excited about the energy that is going on down here. The people are seeing the vision and this is tremendous for the City of Tyler."
Renovations are expected to begin the first of the year.
