Trinity Mother Frances to sponsor nursing course

TYLER, TX - Trinity Mother Frances Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy will sponsor What Every Nurse Should Know About Endoscopy on October 10 at Wisenbaker Conference Center at Mother Frances Hospital, located at 800 E. Dawson.  The course is designed for nurses and other health professionals who participate in the care of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.

The one-day event provides guidance on integrating nursing, medical and technological evidence-based practice. The program includes a lunch seminar and an interactive question and answer session.

"This course will provide hands-on training to all participants in endoscopic equipment and accessories frequently used in patient care,"

said Shou Jiang Tang, MD, Director of the Trinity Mother Frances Endoscopy Center.  "Trinity Mother Frances Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy is dedicated to providing the best endoscopy care for our patients.  This course will help attendees attain specific training in setting up and maintaining endoscopic equipment to ensure quality patient care."

Kai Xia, MD, Chief of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy for Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics said, "The event will include direct interaction with physicians and experienced endoscopy nurses.  It will be beneficial to nurses and health professionals who help patients prepare for endoscopic procedures and provide care for them afterward. This will help nurses who work in various settings such as long term care facilities and primary care physician's offices who may have patients preparing for the procedure."

Officials said qualified attendees will receive 7.5 contact hours for completion of the course.
