The Diner's Fried Green Tomatoes

6 ea    Green tomatoes sliced ¼ inch
3 cups Fine cracker crumbs
4 cups Flour
2 cups Buttermilk
1 Tbls  Salt
1 Tbls Kosher salt & Black pepper


1. Slice tomatoes 1/4 in and season with KS&P.
2.   1 cup cracker crumbs, & salt in a pan.
3.   Pour buttermilk in a pan, remaining flour in pan.
4.   Dust tomatoes in flour, then buttermilk, then cracker crumbs.
5.   Place breaded tomatoes on drain grate.
6.   Drop tomatoes into 350*F fryer for 3-4 min.
7.   Remove fried tomatoes using a strainer, let drain over fryer, place back on drain grate.
8.   Serve with ramekin of ranch dressing.
