TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The car business is changing.
"I've been doing this going on 40 years," Hall GMC Sales Manager Brad Hall said, "and I've never seen it change so much in this short of time ever."
General Motors has a new promotion, buy a new car, if you don't like it, bring it back with no questions asked, and no kidding.
"They're putting their money where their mouth is," Hall said. "They're telling car buyers the car is so good, if you don't like it, bring it back."
The offer begins Monday, September 14, and lasts through November 30. It's available on new Chevrolets, GMCs, Buicks, and Cadillacs returned within 31-60 days with less than 4000 miles and all bills current.
"It's an awesome idea," Hall said. "One of the biggest fears a car buyer has is they hope they're not getting a bad car. Up until this time, once you signed the deal, its yours. Now you have an opportunity if something's not quite right, to bring it back in."
It's an unprecedented offer from an industry with a reputation for products that lose value when you drive them off the lot.
Not anymore. Now, in tough economic times, General Motors is gambling, rolling the dice and may the best car win.
"I think it's an advantage," Hall said. "I don't see anybody else saying if you don't like it, bring it back. No one else is putting their money where their mouth is, only GM."
Will the money back offer bring them back to the lots? We'll know on Monday.
