TYLER, TX (KLTV) - One man is in custody, charged with aggravated kidnapping, involving the attempted abduction of a college student.

Tyler Police say around 5:50 Sunday morning an 18-year-old female student at U.T. Tyler was abducted at knife-point by a 22-year-old male that she was acquainted with. Police say the attacker, William Fears, took the student to a location east of Tyler, where he wounded her several times, but the woman was able to escape and contact police.

Fears is charged with aggravated kidnapping and drug possession, and is being held in the Smith County Jail on $750,000 bond.
