Trusty escapes from custody

Information provided by Rusky County Sheriff's Department:

On Sunday September 13, 2009 at about 5:00 am the Rusk County Sheriff's Office had a trusty escape from custody. Trustee James Craig Mc Gee fled from a detention officer as a trash detail was being conducted. Mc Gee is described as a Black Male, date of birth 09-14-63,  6' 1", 212 lbs. Mc Gee's past known address is 603 Sand Street, Henderson, Texas.

Mc Gee was arrested on May 1, 2009 on a parole violation for burglary of a building, state jail felony and was moved to trustee status on May 15, 2009. Mc Gee was incarcerated in 2002 and 2004 and served as trustee during those incarceration dates without incident. During McGee's times of incarceration at the Rusk County Jail, McGee has never been found to have violated any jail rules, nor received any type of disciplinary actions against him. McGee may be in the company of Myrtle Watson Lacy, Black Female date of birth 07-19-60. McGee and Lacy may be traveling in a gold in color 2005 four door Chevy Malibu bearing Texas registration 347-FRK.

A complete investigation concerning the escape and any possible violations of Rusk County Jail policy is currently being conducted by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office. The Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers, United States Marshal's Service, and the Henderson Police Department are assisting with attempting to locate escapee McGee.
