LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - No doubt, the fair's tasty food is almost as big an attraction as the rides. You can find funnel cakes, corn dogs and folks using the deep fryer as a culinary chemistry set around every corner. We checked out some of the fried creations that you don't always find on the menu.

"Always we do fried things, we do good food for the people," said Romanian born vendor Pierre Trandafir who claims he can deep fry anything, but often explains it in Romanian.

"Lel pulin pushaka natchemako plusaka," said Pierre.

Did you get that? Oh, me either.

"[It] surprise me, you know, everybody like fried food," he said. "They say, 'Oh, but I think it taste good you know fried stuff tastes good.'"

We found deep fried onions, eggplant, fried snickers, fried potato chips, potato chips with bacon, fried ice cream, fried butter, fried car keys...wait! Car keys?! The butter definitely tasted better.

Now, Pierre recommends the fried calimari or eggplant as opposed to straight butter.
