Texans warned not to touch wreckage

Austin, Texas-AP -- Texas Governor Rick Perry is warning people not to meddle with space shuttle "Columbia" debris.

He says a toll-free number has been set up to report any found wreckage (1-800-525-5555). The shuttle broke up over Texas today.

Experts say the debris could be contaminated with toxic chemicals used on the shuttles.

Some Texas National Guard troops have been sent to East Texas to help recover hazardous materials.

People in east Texas have reported a wide swath of wreckage.

An official at a hospital in Nacogdoches says at least 27 people have sought information after coming in contact with pieces of the shuttle.
