Police Pepper Spray, Arrest John Tyler Student

Police are forced to use pepper spray on a John Tyler tenth grader after he lunges at an assistant principal.   The principal had simply told the boy to remove his hat.

The 16 year old was taken to the Juvenile Attention Center on three charges-- including resisting arrest.   It happened just outside the JT cafeteria around lunchtime Thursday. A Tyler Police officer called to assist gave a warning to the student to stop resisting.  The student refused, so the officer used the pepper spray.

Aside from the boy, no one else was badly hurt.
