Prostitution Sting Operation in Longview

A three day, undercover operation in Longview nets more than two dozen arrests in an effort to stop prostitution. Undercover agents worked the Highway 80 area where frequent prostitution has been observed near businesses.

Female police officers, posing as prostitutes were solicited numerous times by passing motorists. Police say it's a crime once a price is offered for services. The potential buyers were led to hotel rooms.  Where agents were waiting to take suspects into custody. The sting operation is aimed at eliminating a crime that has numerous victims. All those arrested in the sting are being charged with promotion of prostitution, a misdemeanor offense, and will face fines and possible jail time.
