LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - It was the talk of the town all over Longview, the Lobo's thrilling come from behind win against 5A number one in the state Allen.
"It was a great game, it was so wild" says one fan who attended the game.
Many who were at the game worried when Longview's struggled early and fell behind by 17 points in the first half.
"They cleared up the mistakes we had and tried to pull together, and I was saying to myself, 'I know we're a better team than this'," said Longview's junior varsity quarterback Deontre Wilson.
"You've got to stay on your A-game because they're going to bring their A-game" said longtime Lobo fan Shirley Shaw.
A massive crowd watched as the Lobos mounted a comeback, eventually taking the lead.
"All week we've heard that they were going to come at you we knew that , our worry was , was Longview's ready, it was answered last night," says Shaw.
"Amazing performance great win, it really puts Longview on the map" said Lobo fan Paulie Bauta.
The final seconds to those who were there were pure magic.
"Afterwards all the student body tried to rush the field and stuff it was so much fun," said Longview's high school senior Anna Elsworth. " You couldn't ask for a better game."
And the team's effort has re-captured the hearts of many in Longview.
"When they started coming back I said, 'Whoa that's the lobos that I know'," Wilson said.
Longview remains ranked number one in the state of Texas class 4A, and extended their home winning streak Friday night to 25 games.
