Officer injured during foot chase

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Smith County peace officer was injured Monday afternoon while chasing after a burglary suspect in the northeast part of the county.

Precinct four constable John Smith said that deputy Joey King injured his knee while chasing after one of three suspects who had broken into a home in the 4600 block of Pine Springs Road off FM 2015.

Constable Smith said a neighbor called officers when he noticed a car parked behind the house. As officers approached  the home, the suspects fled, two in a car and one on foot. The name of the one suspect caught has not been released at this time. The other suspects are wanted.
