BULLARD, TEXAS (KLTV) - One week from today the high school football season will officially begin, today marks the last stop on our two a day tour.
We visit one of the few schools who's mascot doesn't end in an "s"...we head to The Brook Hill School down in Bullard.
The Guard coming off a solid 9-2 campaign, and say hello to a new head coach.
Terry pirtle now takes the reigns.
Pirlte spent 22 years in the public school realm and says he wants to bring that mentality to the private school ranks.
The players say they love the new intensity.
"Football is football anywhere you go, it is pretty hardnosed kind of football here so I think that coach Pirtle has brough that kind of essence here to practice," said lineman Heath Dickey.
"I came from a public school, so I know a little bit about public school, so he brought a lot of that over here and it has helped us alot," said wide receiver Jeremey Chappelle.
"I have been to a public school before and the practices are pretty similar to a public I think it will be better this year," added quarterback Tyler Baker.
The Guard will open the season on week zero when they take on Hawkins as 7:30 p.m at All Saints in Tyler.
