Pudge Lands in South Florida

Former 10 time All-Star catcher and Gold Glove Award Winner Ivan Rodriguez, has come to terms on a 1 year deal worth $10 million dollars with the Florida Marlins.

He was not offered a new contract with the Rangers, who he started his major league career with back in 1991. Rodriguez knew he would more than likely not return to the Rangers, when they traded to acquire catcher Einar Diaz from Cleveland.

The 32 year old had been searching for a team for the past 12 weeks. He had been talking with the Baltimore Orioles in December, but talks broke off after he rejected a 3 year $18 million dollar deal. Rodriquez feels like he is going back home because he already has a home in Miami.
