Gift of Love: Sisters, Cassie and Dayna

By Jennifer Hines - bio | email

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Two sisters locked arm in arm, and together they are looking for a forever family to show them the gift of love.

It was a morning outing at Build a Bear for 10-year-old Cassie and 6-year-old Dayna. Cassie picked out a bear, but it was a unicorn for little Dayna.

"Unicorns! All about unicorns, and all about Hello Kitties," said Dayna.

She is described as the more subdued of the two, but her foster mother still says she's "rambunctious". And, she channels that energy into sports like t-ball and soccer. She says she practices soccer a lot, but Dayna says she also has a more graceful side. Dayna wants to pursue a career on the stage as a dancer. The outgoing little girl loves the color red and can't wait for a trip to Disney World!

"What would you do at Disney World?" I asked the 6-year-old.

"Play," she replied.

"Who's at Disney World?"

"Santa."

Cassie also wants to visit the magic kingdom but says she'll be looking for Cinderella and Snow White. She'd like to see the ocean.

"And, to go to Hawaii... [to] swim in the ocean," said the 10-year-old.

She is also outgoing and loves to laugh. Cassie is a picky eater which can be problematic with maintaining her weight. She is learning to try new foods. She is also a twin but her brother John will be placed separately. The girls will need a family to help them keep up a relationship with their brother.

Cassie also loves to be active and take on almost any activity, indoors and out. She likes swimming, bowling and skating. Her favorite subject is math and she hopes to be a math teacher some day.

As the girls search for their forever family, it's best that they be significantly younger than other children in the home or the only children. They will need close supervision and structure. Most importantly they need the gift of love from a family that will nurture the beautiful girls on their journey through childhood.
