Jess Todd Dealt to the Indians

By: Joshua White

CLEVELAND, Ohio (KLTV) -- The St. Louis Cardinals have finished their deal to send Kilgore native Jess Todd to the Cleveland Indians.

The trade completes the agreement reached by the Cardinals to acquire infielder Mark DeRosa for pitcher Chris Perez.

Todd was brought up from the minors earlier this year to fill a spot on the Cardinals roster when pitcher Chris Carpenter went on the disabled list.

He made his major league debut on June 5 vs. the Colorado Rockies where he pitched 1.2 innings, recording three hits, two earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts.

Todd boasts a 2.20 ERA with a 4-2 record as well as 24 saves in 49 innings with AAA Memphis.
