EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - What was supposed to be a routine traffic violation stop turned into something more when Longview DPS found crystal meth in a man's car.
Roy Wayne Hoy, Jr., 32, of West Monroe, Louisiana was stopped by DPS on Interstate 20 Tuesday morning. The trooper became suspicious of Hoy, saying he "appeared very nervous." Hoy offered to let Trooper Clay Steelman search his vehicle. After removing the speakers from the trunk of Hoy's 2003 Dodge Interpret, he found approximately five ounces of crystal methamphetamine. Authorities say that much meth has a street value of $10,000.
Hoy has been charged with Manufacturing Delivery of Controlled Substance (1 greater than or equal to 4g and less than 200g). He was taken to the Gregg County Jail. His bond is set at $50,000.
