Search Begins in Year Old Disappearance Case

The search for 50 year old Jimmy Scott started in Jacksonville Saturday morning. Scott disappeared from his Plantation Estates residence in November 2001. Texas EquuSearch, a non-profit search and recovery team, organized more than a 150 local volunteers for their recovery effort this weekend.  83 people came from Big Sandy alone.

By nightfall, nothing was recovered, but the teams plan on searching more of Scott's neighborhood and the Neches River on Sunday. Most of the terrain covered Saturday was near Scott's residence off Highway 79.

If you would like to help out, the recovery mission starts Sunday at 8 a.m. Volunteers will meet outside the Ramada Inn on Hwy 79 in Jacksonville.

Organizers say they're offering a $3,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to Jimmy's whereabouts. EquuSearch founder Tim Miller says they're not investigating this case, they just want help finding the body. All tips will remain anonymous.

If you have information on Jimmy Scott, you can call 1-877-270-9500.
