Longview Suspect Breaks Back in Burglary

A would-be burglar is nursing broken bones in his back after falling through the roof of a Longview business during a break-in. Early Wednesday morning, police say a 21-year old man was attempting to break into Lacks Furniture through the roof. As the man was sliding down a ventilation shaft, police say he crashed through a suspended ceiling and fell 30 feet, crushing two vertebrae in his back. But that didn't stop him. Then he allegedly let an accomplice inside and they tried to steal dvds and vcrs. The alarm was tripped, and police caught both men inside. The injured suspect is in the hospital. The other is in jail. The injured suspect is recovering and will be charged once released from the hospital.
