East Texas women's shelter has new home

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - After financial struggles an East Texas women's shelter finally has a place to call their own and the title to prove it. House of Hope has been renting their facility since 2006. Since then, they've tried to purchase it but haven't had the funds to do so. Until White Oak State Bank offered to finance it for them 100%. The shelter houses nearly 60 women a night and last month they handed out more than 7,000 meals.

"Three meals a day, and it's just a blessing, and it's something that we can do for them and then we have two bible studies each day so we feed them god's word and you know he says his word will not return void," Helen Reynolds on the board of directors. "So, that's what we're counting on."

House of Hope is always in need of donations and volunteers. If you're like to help just go to our home page, click on the Big Red Box and the link, House of Hope.
