North Carolina Plane Crash Kills At Least 21

Police say everyone aboard a commuter plane was killed when it crashed into an airport hangar in Charlotte, North Carolina this morning. Initial reports say there had been 19 passengers and two crew members on board.  Police say two people who were in the hangar are also unaccounted for.

The F.A.A. says the plane was Air Midwest Flight 5481, headed from Charlotte to Greenville, South Carolina. It was a beech 1900 Turboprop. A statement from US Airways says the flight was operating as a US Airways Express Flight.

Smoke continues to rise from the debris an hour after the crash. The side of the hangar that was apparently struck by the plane is charred.
