GREGG COUNTY (KLTV) - The Longview Museum of Fine Arts is showing masterpieces made by artists right here in East Texas.

The paintings that will be on display are just some of the masterpieces that will go on display this week.  This is the museum's second year to feature East Texas artists.

"Anup Bhandari" is one of those artist. He's from Nepal, but has been in East Texas for nearly ten years. He says his paintings are inspired by the tragic attacks of 9-11.

"I was really hardened to see so many people who lost their life so, that inspired me to put all the peace and love together in my paintings," said artist, Anup Bhandari.

"It's colorful. It's beautiful. Anup mixes his paints so well, and his subjects are so interesting.   We just really wanted to feature him and some of the major and amazing talent that's in the East Texas area," said Renee Hawkins, Director of The Longview Museum of Fine Arts.

You can see more of Anup's artistic work along with several other masterpieces by East Texas artists. The exhibit runs from Tuesday, July 21 through August 29th.

They are free to the public at the Longview museum of fine arts.
