TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Some say "it's hot enough to fry an egg", or "it's hot enough to bake cookies." But, is it really? We wanted to know, can you really bake cookies in this scorching summer heat?

We put a tray of chocolate chip cookies on a PT Cruiser's dashboard. It took about four hours at temperatures around 120 to 140 degrees in a sealed up car, and the result? A happy newsroom. Several people tasted the cookies, though, temps may not have been high enough to kill off questionable bacteria. You probably shouldn't try this at home.
