Tyler started the countdown to one of the season's biggest social events Saturday night with the introduction of the 2003 Texas Rose Festival Queen.
This year's Rose Queen is eighteen year old Elizabeth Arlene Lilly. She was introduced at the Winter Gala, which is the fundraiser for the Tyler Rose Museum. For the new queen, the Rose Festival is a part of her family tradition.
"My mom and dad were both in the Rose Festival," Lilly explains, "And it's a tradition in my family. I just feel honored to be chosen as the 70th Rose Festival Queen.
Lilly is a freshman at Baylor, and a graduate of All-Saints. If you'd like to mark your calendar, this year's Rose Festival will be October 16-19.
