EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Every year PATH (People Attempting to Help) seeks to give East Texans relief from the heat by hosting a fan drive. The "fan raising" takes place throughout the warm weather months of May-August.
Once the box fans are dropped off at the non-profit's office on 402 West Front Street, PATH distributes the fans to those in need, giving one per household, while supplies last. If you are interested in donating fans, you can stop by their office M-F, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Also, Home Depot has a special $10 fan offer that they give to people who donate their fans to PATH.
If you don't have time to go buy fans, but still want to help out, PATH does accept monetary donations for the purchase of fans or for utility assistance.
You can donate by writing a check and mailing it in, or you can go to their web site to donate. If you write a check, make sure to include "fan drive" in the memo line.
If you you choose to donate online, you can designate your donation to be for "fans" or utility assistance.
