LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Authorities are still searching for a suspect who escaped from them Tuesday afternoon.

Michael Fagan, 31, had been picked up by Gregg County authorities near Interstate 20 and Highway 42 for drug charges. He was taken to the South Gregg County Jail facility. While being transferred from the deputy's vehicle to the facility at the jail's "sally port" Fagan escaped.

According to Gregg County's Public Information Officer, they had reported the escaped suspect as caught after Kilgore police captured a man that looked like Fagan. Authorities say the look alike saw police approaching him and tried to hide some drugs he had with him by swallowing them.

Fagan was last seen handcuffed, wearing a white t-shirt and plaid shorts.
