Stolen firearms and counterfeit money

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Two East Texas men have been indicted in two very different cases.

The first man, Michael LaPlace, 22, of Mt. Pleasant, was indicted on charges of possessing and attempting to sell stolen firearms. According to the indictment, La Place knowingly tried to sell at least 10 stolen firearms. If convicted, LaPlace could face 10 years in federal prison.

The second man, Robert Richardson, 66, of Edgewood, was indicted on charges of possessing and uttering counterfeit obligations of the Unite States. According to the indictment, Richardson was arrested after using a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for his meal. Authorities found 10 additional $100 bills in Richardson's wallet.
