TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Emergency rooms across the country are seeing a rise in injuries related to do-it-yourself projects. It seems cash-strapped Americans are trying to fix or replace things themselves, rather than hiring a professional. But often times, it can end up in injuries and paying high hospital bills.

"Shot with nail guns, razor knives," said Todd Williams, owner of Rent-A-Husband & Son Handyman Services. "Hot water heater blew up on me, lighting a hot water heater one time, got third degree burns."

Definitely dangerous jobs. Now we'll tell you what east Texas doctors see here, and we'll have a complete story tonight on KLTV at 6.
