Science Place Kicks Off Holiday Camps

If your looking to do some last minute Christmas shopping without the kids around, The Discovery Science Place may have just the solution for you.

They're offering all-day fun camps for kids during the holiday season.Camp-goers will participate in fun games and arts and crafts, all while learning about science. Kids got to make reindeer out of construction paper and fish out of popsicles during a science lesson Monday. Instructors chose those exercises to teach students about marine life and reindeer.

"Every clinic is science and education based," says education director Kris Parks. "But there also so much fun. There's crafts going on all the time, and the kids are busy all day long."

The camps are held on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Kids will start their day at 9a.m. and are dismissed at 4:30 p.m. It costs 30 dollars. The camps will last until Jan. 3. You can sign up by calling 903-533-8011, extension 25.
