Shelves Getting Thin, Help Wanted

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - One East Texas Food Bank Ministry is need of all the help they can get.

Longview Community Ministries says they have seen a 39% increase in folks in need of food compared to last year. The organization says they spend over $1,000 a week in groceries and they are feeling the pinch.

Right now, they provide only Longview residents with supplemental groceries only once a month. They're hoping East Texans will lend them a helping so they be a blessing to others.

"We will continue doing what we can with what we have," said Sharon Kale, executive director. "It's always been a step in faith what we do, but it would be nice if we could supplement that if the community has those extra funds to donate."
