In the past, many patients were limited to which hospital they could choose due to the restrictive nature of the insurance plan or managed care network", Kendrick stated. This year, many insurance providers, such as Aetna, CIGNA, HealthSmart, Texas True Choice and United Healthcare have opted to allow patients to select their hospital of choice. As the year matures, Longview Regional expects additional insurance providers to open their networks and allow their members to have choice.

Over the last eighteen months, Longview Regional has invested more than $4,745,025 in new equipment to improve the services they are able to provide to our community. Some of those include the ad Vinci Surgical Robot, Stryker Navigational Surgical System, Philips Allure Xper FD 20 Cardiovascular Cath Lab equipment (the region's most advanced cardiovascular technology) and the advanced cardiac ultrasound echography or ECHO machine. Additional locations acquired by Longview Regional include the Physicians Surgery Center of LRMC (in Longview) and Longview Occupational Medicine Clinic - Kilgore. Longview Regional Medical Center relocated their occupational medicine clinic, Longview Occupational Medicine Clinic to a new $2,000,000 facility, located at 3200 N 4th Street. LRMC also invested over $1,000,000 expanding medical office spaces in their Medical Park Office Building (709 Hollybrook).
