TYLER, TX (KLTV) - In less than 24 hours the Big Switch becomes official. Tomorrow at 9 a.m. KLTV 7 will be shutting off our analog signal after broadcasting 55 years. We have a special message to those of you with converter boxes. There are a few key steps you'll need to do to pick up our digital signal.

It's important to know not all converter boxes are created equal. There's about 80 models to choose from, but they all operate in generally the same manner. In order for you to continue to pick up our digital signal you will need have your converter perform a RESCAN of your digital channels. Due to complex technical reasons, KLTV 7 will be switching digital channels when we cut off our analog signal at 9 a.m. Friday.

Rescanning is easy, although you might need to pull out those converter box instructions one more time. With most models you will need to turn your TV and converter box on and press the menu button on the remote. You should see a configure/scan/rescan option in the menu. Click whatever option applies and let the converter re-scan the digital channels. The whole process should take no more than 2-3 minutes.
