TEXAS (KLTV) - Imagine getting up to a $4,500 voucher toward a new car by trading in your old gas guzzler.
A "Cash for Clunkers" Bill now turns to the Senate after passing the House Tuesday. It would give consumers up to $4,500 toward a new, more fuel-efficient vehicle. The old guzzler would then be crushed or shredded as an effort to help the environment.
The year-long program is expected to cost some $4 billion.
We're meeting with some used car dealers to see how this may effect their business if this were to pass. Catch the complete report on KLTV at 6 p.m.
