GLADEWATER, TX (KLTV) - It has roped in folks since 1938, and now, it's time to saddle up in Gladewater once again.

The 72 annual Gladewater Roundup Rodeo kicks off Tuesday night. The five night event features calf roping, barrel racing and steer wrestling, not to mention some of the best riders in the world who don't have as many competitions as last year.

"There's a lot of rodeos around the U.S. right now that are actually folding they're not making it," said Hugh Bowden, Jr., president of Gladewater Roundup Rodeo. "They don't have the support of the community and the sponsors they need and I can say our rodeo is stronger than ever."

The rodeo is going on right now. It's free Tuesday, but all the other days are going to cost you.
