LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - It was an argument that lead to a stabbing and eventually one man's death. At around 10:30 Sunday night, Longview officers were called to 109 West Avalon Street.
Witnesses say Bobby Joe Smith Jr., 41, of Longview and Michael Lakale Morrow, 36, of Longview had a disagreement. Several people tried to step in and break up the argument, but the fight turned physical. According to witnesses, Morrow stabbed Smith in the chest with a knife.
Morrow was on-scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident.
Smith was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He died a short time later. An autopsy has been ordered.
Morrow was booked into the Gregg County Jail for murder, a 1st degree felony.
