TYLER, TX (KLTV) - On Tuesday, the city of Tyler will be adding two more traffic signs. Residents in one South Tyler neighborhood say those no left turn signs will be a welcomed sight.
Alex Suarez has lived on Inverness Drive in Tyler for 16 years. Starting Tuesday, he will no longer be able to turn left on his street from Shiloh Road, which he says is just fine.
"For that 16 years we've lived here, it has always been a concern for us because of the fact that as you are going down the hill to turn, you never know what is going to happen," said Suarez. "You turn your signal on early on because that way you are warning the vehicles behind you that you are making that left, but for some people behind you, they never tell until it is too late."
The City of Tyler says there were more than 40 accidents last year at the intersection of Shiloh Road and Inverness Drive. There will also be a no left turn sign at Pine Knoll, the next street up the hill from Inverness. So, how will the residents like Suarez get to their home? We'll have an alternate route coming up tonight on KLTV 7 News at 6.
