Broken Trucks Put Collection Behind

Broken down garbage trucks put crews behind schedule picking up trash in Longview. Eight garbage trucks, about 40 percent of the fleet are not working and need repairs. As a result, some residents in Longview did not have their trash collected Monday.

Tuesday morning, crews hurried to catch up. They even used pick up trucks to haul off trash in some areas. But, the sanitation department promises all trash scheduled to be picked up this week will be collected by Saturday.

The city has ordered six new garbage trucks which should arrive before the weekend.
