TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Two East Texas marines are back home for the Memorial holiday, arriving at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport Saturday afternoon.  These soldiers got a little more than they bargained for.

Lance Corporal Cameron McDowell and Corporal Cory Smith did not have to walk far to get their surprise greeting.  Home from Iraq, the soldiers took time to share handshakes and hugs, even give a few autographs, but that wasn't the only surprise.  Lance Corporal McDowell had a special present waiting for him.

"I'm pretty excited about it," said McDowell as he stood next to his brand new car.  "This is my first time to see it, so I'll try not to get in trouble."

"Being back in Texas makes you feel a lot better," said Smith.  "I like the Marine Corps, but I love Texas."  Both soldiers say their top priority is spending time with family and friends.
