PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - The Texas State Railroad made life a littler easier for some East Texas foster families Sunday.
More than 500 people showed up at the Palestine Depot to ride the train famous for the phrase, "I think I can! I think I can!"
A life size replica of 'The Little Engine that Could' took kids for a thirty minute ride. The foster families admission was free, paid for by the East Texas Heart Gallery.
"Every kid deserves a family atmosphere and a parent," said Adam Gonzales. "And, they need this. Kids need to come out and enjoy it not by themselves, but with somebody that they love."
The next big event at the Texas State Railroad is this Memorial Day weekend. The railroad is honoring the armed forces. Helicopter fly-ins, mock military battles and a 21 gun salute will be on display.
